The Team

The Trustees

The charity’s Trustees are all adults living with a long term health condition or disability and most have come up through our client route with some involved as founding members of Lifestyles. With a range of disabilities they are passionate about supporting other people living with similar conditions in Cornwall to fulfil their ambitions. They bring a wealth of expertise in disability issues and lived experience to the charity. Many are members of other organisations and sit on various disability charity boards.

It isn’t a requirement that our Trustees have a disability but an understanding of disability challenges and skills or experience to help us develop the charity is.

If you feel you can help please get in touch!

Ed Whitefield

CEO

Ed started in April 2019 alongside Barry Marsh who had been running the charity for 20 years and now is having a well-deserved retirement. Ed became CEO in March 2020.

Ed is from Bude and is adding experience in team management, training, development and careers guidance having previously worked for Careers South West for over 15 years working with adults and young persons before moving to Lifestyles.

Ed is keen on collaborative working alongside other charities, groups and agencies in Cornwall.

When he isn’t doing the above he’s happy walking Rosie the dog, surfing and brewing beer!

The Support Workers

They are the backbone of our small caring charity. We pride ourselves on our incredible team of loyal, caring and friendly Support Workers. They will go that extra mile for their clients, many of which have been supporting for the same client for many years!

Trained and knowledgeable staff is key. We make sure that our Support Workers are trained in the core modules of care with our online Careskills Academy training provider. Each Support Worker is carefully matched to each client and are located across Cornwall.

We aim to support our staff and volunteers so they can support our clients. As with many of our clients many of our staff and volunteers have been with us for years.

If you enjoy supporting people, can be flexible and able to travel then please get in touch. While we may not be able to offer immediate employment we always welcome interest.

Becky Rowland & Bex Davey

Admin / Digital Inclusion

The two Becky’s support Ed part-time helping with the charity’s admin and advocacy work. More recently the roles have extended to include Digital Inclusion enabling our clients to access social media and computer technology to be able to keep in touch during the Covid19 pandemic.

Both Becky’s are from Bude and love the outdoor life, walking for miles along the coastal paths. Bex Davey is an incredibly talented Cornish artist as well as being a bit of a whizz with social media and websites.

Becky Rowland when she’s not filling in the charity’s spreadsheets and helping our clients get online, has rekindled her passion for playing the piano and trying to stand up on her surfboard. Both of which are proving quite a challenge!
